Big Sur Smokehouse is located in the restored Post family homestead, right on Highway 1 at the entrance to Ventana Big Sur.
We’re about 30 miles from Carmel, and 10 minutes or so from Pfeiffer Beach and State Park. But don’t rely on your mobile phone to guide you here—this is a secluded escape at the edge of the continent, and there is no cell reception from Carmel to Big Sur. While all who wander may not be lost, you might feel that way for just a bit.
Don’t worry, though: We have full cell coverage on site. There also are plenty of friendly folks in these parts to help you find your way, and even Tesla Superchargers up the hill at Ventana should you need more than just culinary refueling.
